TRADE AGREEMENT
BETWEEN BRITAIN AND DOMINIONS.
PRODUCERS’ RESOLUTION.
(United Press Association—By CableCopyright.)
(Received I'3, 12.55 p.m.) London, Nov. 12. At the meeting of the Council of the Empire Producers’ Organisation, the chairman, Lord Melchett, moved that immediate steps be taken to promote trade agreements between Britain and the dominions in view of the development of the Empire as an economic unit. He pointed out the urgency for overdndustrialised Britain balancing with over-agricul-turalised other units of the Empire. Her resources in raw materials gave the Empire an irresistible bargaining power with foreign countries. Important Australian and other business men desired to participate in the proposed Imperial business conference to be held concurrently with the next Imperial Conference to consider Empire development. Sir Henry Barwell, Agent-General for South Australia, and others supported the resolution, which yas carried.
