STRIBLING BEATS COOK. AUSTRALIAN HAS A BAJ> TIME. (United Press Association—By CableCopyright.l I Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) New York, Sept. 2. At Macon (Georgia) 5000 spectators witnessed a boxing match between Stribling and Cook. The former entered the ring weighing 1821bs. and Cook 1861bs. The early rounds were fairly even, but slightly in Stribling's favour. In the fifth round Stribling rushed Cook and had him hanging on the ropes. Cook appeared to be tiring. In the sixth Stribling drew blood from Cook’s face, and in the seventh a heavy right to the jaw put Cook down for a count of four. After this Stribling punished the Australian severely. Cook, groggy, fought wildly, with blood gushing from his face. The referee threatened to stop the fight, and called a doctor, after whose examination the Australian’s seconds threw in the towel.
