NEWS AND NOTES. Mr E. F. Leicester, who recently resigned his position as inspector to the Havelock North Town Board, following a change in policy that the board adopted regarding its administration, has been approached by the chairman of the board to reconsider his decision, but Mr Leicester would not do so and applications are now being invited for the position he will shortly vacate. At the weekly euchre tournament in the Havelock North Fire Station last evening. Mrs A. F. Cook was the w]nnei of the ladies’ prize and Mr F. Meads the winner of the gentlemen’s prize.
