FUNERAL OBSEQUIES

THE VERY REV. DEAN MAYNE. Prior to the interment of the late the Very Rev. Dean Mayne at Havelock North this afternoon. a service was held in St. John’s Cathedral, Napier, m the presence of a crowded congregation, including a larg number ot representatives of other denominations His Lordship the Bishop of Waiapu, assisted by Archdeacon Brocklehurst, conducted the service, and the Bishop of Ao-tea-roa (the Right Rev. F. A. Bennett). Archdea eon Williams, and many other clergy wore present. Tho service, which w:;s most impressive, opened with tho Psalm “The Lord is my, Shepherd, followed by the hymns “Peace. Perfect Peace” and “The Day .Thou Gaiest. Lord, is Ended.”
