WAR RELIEF
HASTINGS BRANCH. FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. The fortnightly meeting of the Hastings branch committee of the Hawke's Bay War Relief Association was held this morning. Present:— Messrs J. H. Coleburn (chairman), \V. Hart, 11. Holderncss aud W. J. White. Twenty-four Returned soldiers’ cases were considered, and grants totalling £49 5s and a loan of £25 were authorised, and grants totalling £37 Ils lOd were recommended to the Provincial Executive of the Association. A statement of payments and receipts for the month of August, showing grants to soldiers £127 19s sd, grants to dependents £32 Ils 6d, loans to soldiers £59 14s Id, payments on account of other societies £49 2s 8d and payments received £364 18s 3, was placed before the meeting and approved.
