In the Sheffield Shield match between New South Wales and South Australia, New South Wales in the second innings declared after losing nine wickets for 399 (Bradman 175. Marks 26, McCabe 27). Grimmett took five wickets for 116. South Australia in the second innings .have lost three wickets for 218 (Hack 79, Harris 94. Richardson not out 30). Bradman has now made 1529 runs in first-class cricket this season, just four runs behind the South African Faulkner’s record. HAWKE’S BAY ASSOCIATION COMMITTEE MEETING. The fortnightly meeting of the Management Committee of the Hawke’s Bay Cricket Association was held last night in Napier. Present:— Messrs R. M. Chadwick (chairman), 11. Stephenson, C. Canning, J. Hawke, C. Louisson, F. Cameron. R. Spriggs, H. V. Phillips, and C. Elmes. The New Zealand Cricket Council advised the Association that it did not think that a further date would be available for Hawke’s bay i... Hawke Cup fixture.' Members took exception to the juggling of dates for future matches that was taking place, stating in such a position would not bo tolerated under Plunket Shield rules. The Association decided to make a protest to the New Zealand Council owing to the fixjng of dates having deprived Hawkes’ Bay of a match at Easter. The New Zealand Cricket Council advised that the resignation of Wairoa as a separate minor association had been accepted. Wniroa having elected to join up with Poverty Bay, it was agreed to suggest to the Council that the whole area of the Wniroa County Council should be included in the Poverty Bay Assoposes. In connection with the Kilk Cup, it was decided to advise the Poverty Bay Association that the Association would bo willing to send a team to Gisborne at Easter.
The secretary reported that the Wanganui Cricket Association had been written to asking them to arrange a match for Technical Old Boys at Easter.
The Napier-Hastings third grade match was fixed ror March 23.
The question of a coach is to be considered at a special meeting to be held within the next fortnight.
