Nationalist newspapers continue to comment cynically on the arrest of Frank- Heine, the forger of the fake Franco-Belgian treaty. Some declare that the affair is mysterious and incredible. “Deutsche Zeitung” says that the arrest was pre-arranged. “Tago blatt” states that the Franco-Bel-gian embarrassment proves that tile documents are not forgeries. , “Lokal Anzeiger” hopes that the Utrecht “Dagsblad” will prove the documents genuine. “Volks Zeitung” says that whether Heine’s story is true or not, the fact remains that the terms of the treaty have not been published. The Socialist newspaper "Vorwaerts” alone accepts Heine’s confession. A REPRISAL. [Australian Pros Ann.—United Service.! (Received 5, 10.45 a.m.) Paris. March 4. As a reprisal to the Franco-Belgian forged treaty the “Echo de Paris” published extracts of another secret treaty concluded in 1918, under which Germany allowed the use of Dutch railways to transport military and other merchandise towards Aix-la-Chapelle and Herbesthal. The “Daily Express’ ” Brussels correspondent states that Heine is a great-grandson of the famous writer Heinrich Heine (1797—1856). He had been shadowed bv the police. When he was arrested the, police seized Heine’s . portfolio, which was found to contain the original of the alleged treaty. Heine affected to consider the matter an immense joke and boasts of the way in which be deceived the whole world. He is liable for fifteen years’ imprisonment for plotting against national security. Tho police are actively searching for his accomplices.
