PLAYGROUND FUND.
THE “FRIVS.’ ” EFFORT.
The Mayor of Hastings (Mr. G. A. Maddison) writes as follows:— "1 would be favoured it you would mention in your columns that the nett proceeds from the concert ‘given by the Napier Frivolity Minstrels, for the purpose of assisting in providing equipment for a nursery and a children's playground at the Hastings Women’s Rest, results in the nett profit of £62 18/9. “Will you also express my gratiture to the Napier Frivolity Minstrels for their kindness in providing this entertainment. Special thanks are due also to Mr. T. Donovan; Messrs, Lovell and Painter, for donating the cost of printing the tickets; Messrs. Westerman and Coy., for donating the programmes; Mr. Geo. Muir, for free cartage; Mr. J. Wright, for organising concert: Mr. L. J. Harvey, for loan of crockery; the theatre stage staff; and Messrs. Banks, Chaplin. Lord and Maxwell, the headmasters of the Hastings schools, for their co-operation.” Tlie Mayor also acklowledges n donation of 10/-, received from Mr. J. Downie, towards the equipment of a nursery at the Women’s Rest.
