MAJOR ACTION DEVELOPING 200,000 A SIDE ON 200 MILES FRONT. summary execution of communist AGITATORS. [United Press Assn.—By Cable— Copyright.] [United Service.] (Received 28. 9.15 a.m.) Shanghai. May 28. Having routed the Shansi armies along the Pekin-Hankow railway and chased them into the hilly region on the west of the line, Fengtien has now decided to carry out an onslaught on Feng- Yuh-siang’s troops, who are advancing between Tsang- ■ how and Hochien. Consequently a major action mav shortly be expected with 200,000 men a side over a front of 200 miles. On Sunday the Northerners on the Tientsin-Pukow railway commenced aggressive, severe fighting, leaving the issue undecided. A Tientsin .message states that French concession police unearthed a Communist secret society, arresting five Chinese Communists whom thev handed over to the native authorities, who summarily executed them. The documents seized were of an extreme nature and similar to the past year’s seizure at the Embassy at Pekin, planning to overthrow the Northern authorities.
