First Wrack is owned by Mr H. F. Nicoll, Ashburton and Koro Peter by Mr. D. Cooper. Tauranga. NOTES IN GENERAL. The acceptances received by the Hawke’s Bay Trotting Club for theiJune 4 nieeing are exceptionally good, and a great day’s sport is assur cd. The running of. a 10s tote is going to prove very popular. Everything points to the club having a very prosperous meeting. * . * - * Worthy Bingent. full brother to that champion of champions, great Bingeu, and the property of Mr J. R. Corrigan, will be a starter at Hastings on June 4. He has been at the stud, but is to again race, A straightour trotter he has in private gone very fast and his starting here will be most interesting to trottirfg enthusiasts, * w * Owners would do well to bear in mind the altered conditions attaching to the G.N. Derby - of 1929. which next year is to be run at the summer meeting of the Auckland Trotting Chib, instead of at the spring fixture, as this year. Entries (for now yearlings) are dito to be made on general nomination day (Thursday, June 7, next) for the winter meeting. A subscription of £lO each, unless for-

feit of £1 is declared,at the date of general entry for the summer meeting this year (1928), or forfeit of £2 on the day of the general entry for the spring meeting, 1929. Notification of intention to continue engagement, or otherwise, must be received on for feit dates, or engagement ceases. BoCeipt of certified notification of deith of entrant cancels all liability. From the above it will be seen that the onus is on owners themselves to continue tiie engagement by notification in writing. This should clear the air in regard to next year’s Derby , to be decided at the summer meeting at Alexandra Park in 1929.
