Andrew Payne, of Claremore Oklaroma, a schoolboy, is the winner of the 3450 miles trans-continental footrace from Los Angeles to New York. He ran the distance in 573 hours 4 minutes 34 seconds, in 85 laps. He receives 25,020 dollars, first prize.
