All the Americans have been eliminated from the amateur golf championships. The ex-champion, Holderness, beat their chief hope, J. McHugh, Californian champion, in the second round, two up and one to play. J. Lang beat Hezlet in the second round, one up; the ex-champion, Wethered, beat Oppenheimer in the second round, 4 up and 3 to play; R. Cant (Carnoustie) beat Gunson, the New Zealander, in the third round, 4 up and 3 to play.
