Two members of the Cabinet in Eltham last evening, the Hon. A. D. McLeod and the Hon. O. J. Hnwken, received deputations from the County Council on the question of recovery of rates on abandoned Crown lands, and deputations from the Borough Council and the Luke Rotakare Domain Board on the relief of unemployment in the district and matters in connection with Rotakare reserve. At the Hastings Magistrate’s Court yesterday afternoon before Mr H. A. Young, S.M.. G. E. Boas, of Fernhill, farmer sued Jim Hale, of Fernhill farmer, for £lO ss. alleged to be due on a mower, sold and delivered to the defendant in November. 1926. After hearing evidence, His Worship gave judgment for plaintiff for the full amount, with costs. £5 5s 6d.
