HASTINGS MAGISTRATE’S COURT
(Before Mr H. A. Young S.M.I TODAY’S CASES. Thomas Dredge was charged with' carrying a pistol, issued under the Arms Act, 1920, beyond the limits and curtilage of his dwelling, without having a license. Erick Cudby deposed that the ac« cused called at his house while drunk and witness took from him a colt revolver which he had in his possession. The accused called at the house to sco Eis wife and he said he wanted to shoot somebody. The pistol was not loaded Witness was the accused’s brother-in-law. A statement from a Palmerston constable described the accused as suffering from war injuries. He was hard-working and of good charactar, but when he took liquor he was liable to go mad. He was in poor circumstances. The accused, under the circumstances, was convicted and ordered to pay 13s Court costs, the pistol to be confiscated. CIVIL CASES. Single £2 18s, costs 27s 6d; Maison McKay v. Mrs W. Broughton £4 12s, costs 34s 6d; A. P. Smith v. D. Tamumaka £lO, costs 37a 6d; A. P. Smith v. Peete Timu £6, costs 37s Gd; A. P. Smith v. Sunny Hapuku £33 Is 2d, costs £4 8s; Public ' Trust (for J. J.’ Cassin) V. Arthur Edward Spooner £3 10s, costs 23a Gd; D. Baker-Gabb v. Coker and Co. £l5, costs £2 14s. Judgment summons.—Johnny King was ordered to pay Q. McQuillan £3 9s Gd forthwith, in default four days’ imprisonment. ,
