SWIMMING

HERETAUNGA CLUB. WEEKLY MEETING HELD. A committee meeting of the Heretaunga Swimming Club was held last evening, Mr. A. Mclvor presiding over a full attendance. The following programme was adopted for Friday next: — Ladies’ Championship 100 yards, Men’s Championship 100 yards, Diving Championship, 2nd stage, Junior Boys Championship 100 yards, 3rd distance Armstrong Cup 880 yards, B. Grade Handicap 50 yards, Boys’ Race 25 yards, Girls’ Race 25 yards, Novice Diving, Club Handicap 75 yards, Novelty Pillow Fight, Ladies’ Race 25 yards, B. Grade Diving, Teams Race. A letter was received from the Education Board advising that all schools are being given permission to close for the children’s championship carnival on Wednesday, 28th inst. The following programme was drawn up:—Learners’ ■ race, Iwidth, boys, 10 years and under; Learners’ race, 1 width, Girls, 10 years arid under; Boys’ Race, 25yds; Girls’ Race, 25 yds; Girls’ Championship 25 and 50 yds for Dunkley Cup; Boys’ Championship 25 and 50yds for Kirkpatrick Cup; Championship Diving; Novice Diving, Boys; Novice Diving, girls! Novelty Blindfold Race; Championship Teams Race, 3 boys and 1 girl,. 25yds each, for Roach Cup. Aggregate points in championship events: Maddison Shield.
