RECLAMATION IN NAPIER.
HARBOUR BOARD SCHEME. BOROUGH COUNCIL CONSIDERATION. The Napier Harbour Board's reclamation programme was briefly referred to at the Napier Borough Coun cil meeting last night, when a letter was received from the board drawing the council’s attention to a clause in the reclamation committee’s report which was adopted, relating to N 0.2 area of the Richmond block facing George’s Drive with an area of 194 acres. The clause readln view of the fact that the largest part of the expenditure in connection with the work on this particular area is because of the need of meeting the Napier Borough Reclamation requirements your committee recommend that negotiations be sought between the Borough Council and the Harbour Board with a view of ascertaining whether some working arrangement can be come to between these local bodies regarding this area.”
The secretary of the Harbour Board added that Messrs. Eriksen, Jones, Jull, Lowe, Peters, and Roach had been appointed to meet representatives of the council. The council appointed councillors R. W. Goodger, J. W. Callaghan. J. C. Bryant, C. D. Cov, W. G'. Martin, C. H. Wilkie and P. F. Higgins as its representatives, and the whole council is to hold a special meeting on Monday night next to consider the matter.
