SIR APIRANA NGATA.

WANTED FOR SAMOA. AUCKLAND SUGGESTION. [Special to "Tribune") Auckland, March 19. Where is the wise man who can smooth over the Samoan difficulties? Some Aucklanders have pinned their faith to Sir Apirana Ngata. At a meeting of citizens held last night the following resolution was passed:— “That this meeting respectfully suggests that Sir Apirana Ngata De requested to accept the position of administrator of Western Samoa by the New Zealand Gowriuuent. We believe that he has those special qualifications of legal training and knowledge of Polynesian customs together with high culture which makes him eminently suitable for the difficult and responsible duties of administrator, and further, that this resolution be forwarded to the Prime Minister for his consideration.” The present administrator. General Sir George Richardson, is about to conclude his term of office
