TRANS-PACIFIC SERVICES

A NEW PASSENGER STEAMER. TO BE BUILT BY U.S.S. CO. (Per Press Association). Wellington, Feb. 7. The directors of the Union Steamship Co. have decided to build a passenger steamer to strengthen die trans Pacific mail services. It is probable that the new vessel will be of slightly larger capacity than the Aorangi. Sir Charles Holdsworth, managing director, leaves for England by the Aorangi fi;om Auckland on Tuesday next.
