FALSE PRETENCES

ALTS PLEADS GUILTY. LARGE SUM INVOLVED. (Per Press Association). Auckland, Feb. 16. William Maddison Alt, aged 40, pleaded guilty in the Police Court to obtaining £1565 by false pretences from the New Zealand Guarantee Corporation of Wellington in motor lorry dealings and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. Alt was extradited from Honolulu.
