HEIN ARRESTED

FOUND STARVING AT AN INN. MOST THRILLING MAN-HUNT IN HISTORY. (Received 6. 9.10 a.m.) Berlin, Feb. 5. Hein, after long eluding thousands of searchers, police, and soldiers, was arrested at Weingarten, where he was discovered at an jnn complaining he was starving. The man-hunt was the most thrilling in German criminal history.—(A. and N.Z.) Hein is suspected of robberies and four murders. A police sergeant who jumped off a bicycle and attempted to arrest him was shot through the head and Hein rode off on the bicycle. A second police officer overtook him and Hein took ambush in a ditch, exchanging a fusilade until his ammunition was exhausted. Hein, who was thought to be wounded, escaped. Hein and an accomplice raided th e ' post office at Ohligs at Christmas time and shot two officials. The accomplice, Larm, was arrested. Hein afterwards shot two policemen who were trying to arrest him. one of them being killed.
