CYCLISTS AT NkW PLYMOUTH JAVELIN RECORD BROKEN New Plymouth, Feb. 5. He was carried off the field and was attended by a doctor, but later he insisted on competing in the two miles, which he actually won from Gray (both 25 yards behind scratch) and Dykes (25 yards in front) in 5.28. Wilson won the 50 yards invitation ladies’ handicap in 6 2-5 secs., only l-ssec. slower than the existing world’s record. She also won the 100 yards ladies’ scratch race in 11 2-ssecs., Miss Swinburne being second. The Gisborne ladies retained the Etaveneaux Cup, beating Wellington and Wanganui by 50 yards. R. W r . Lander won the 120 yards hurdles from scratch in 16secs., and also the 440 yards. Wellington beat Wanganui in the 440 yards relay. In the putting the shot event P. Munro, from scratch, did 42ft. 9in.
