Some of the New South Wales ath letes competed at an evening meetting yesterday prior to their departure for Sydney this afternoon. Results: 100 yards—First heat: T. G. Melville (Sydney) 64 yards 1, A. J. Elliott scr 2, 8. C. Fergussou 3. Among tho "also starters’’ were the New South Welshmen, H. D. Norman (4yards), E. H. Scott (4 yards) A. Hodgson (10 yards). Melville won by hall a yard. Time, 10 2-5 secs. Second heat: W.'Hunt (Sydney) scr. 1, 1. K. Hook 24yds 2, L. H. Mere dith 24yds o. Only starters. Won oy half a yard. Time, 10 2-5. Final: Elliott 1, Hunt 2, Fergussou 3. Also competed: Hook (Melville) and Meredith were not well enough to compete). A great finish. Elliott won by a foot. Time, 104. 440 yards—Hunt (jwr; 1, Fergus son (10 yards) 2. Also started: Norman (5 yards). Hook (8 yards), Savidan (10 yards). Won by thiee yards. Time, 51 1-5 secs. Half-mile.—Savidan (10 yards) 1, Hodgson (55 yards) 2, L. C. Barker (35 yards) 3. Als* competed: Norman (scr.), Clarke (65 yards). Won by a yard.
