THE H.B. SPRING SHOW
To many thousands of people in this district the Hawke’s Bay Spring Show is an event of outstanding pleasure and importance. Much has been done since last year in improvement. The grandstand has been roofed, so that now it is a shelter from showers of rain for the new summer attire which is bravely worn if the weather is anything like fine. An excellent institution is the room where lost children are con'eyed, and much sorrow to small people will be saved in that sensible way. The concreting of the floors of sheds is another improvement. In the past the dust nuisance has prevented many exhibitors from displaying expensive fancy work which would soon be thickly coated with dust, and the food displays have also greatly deteriorated in the grey dust rising from hundreds of passing feel. The society is doing its best to meet the requirements of the people, and by planning and thought are intending this year’s show to eclipse even the great success which attended it last October.
