BALL TO RAISE FUNDS. AT HASTINGS ON SHOW NIGHT. A public meeting was held in the Hastings Borough Council under the presidency of Mr G. A. Maddison to considering arrangements for the Hold ing of the second plain and fancy dress ball in aid of the Hawke’s Bay Children’s Homo. A strong committee was appointed to deal with the function, which it was decided will be held in Hastings cn Show night, October 20. The Mayoress, Mrs G. A. Maddison was ap pointed president of the committee which has potter to add to its num bers. It was pointed out that last year the ball was a great success and it was decided that the price of tickets should remain the same, double IDs. single 7s 6d for ladies and 10s fox ladies end lOs for gentlemen. Tickets wul be available in a few days and may be procured from Mr G. G. A. Maddison, or the joint honorary secretaries Messrs A. I. Rainbow Queen street, Hastings, and H. E. Edgley, Tennyson street, Napier.
