PROGRESSIVE SOCIETY MEETING GENERAL NEWS ITEMS. ' There was a good attendance at the monthly meeting of the Clive Progressive Society, presided over by Air Dockery. The annual spring show has been fixed lor Thursday, November 10th, and those desirous of securing schedules should communicate with the hon, secretary, Mr J. B. Lister. Clive. Last week the members of the Women’s Institute entertained Miss Tucker who is to he married shortly, at a kitchen tea in the Public Hall. A most enjoyable evening was spent in community singing and games. The Boy Scout movement is progressing apace. In addition to a strong troop of Scouts, a Cub pack ha s been formed nearly 20 strong. The committee, alive to the needs of the lads, are holding a special meeting shortly when the running of a big sports gathering will be considered. AVith the proceeds it is intended that necessary “gear” should be purchased to enable the lads to go into camp during the summer holidays. A church parade will be held on Sunday, October 15th. at 3 p.m. at the Anglican Church, when Rev. F. A. Bennett will be the preacher.
