SPORTS CLUB—BOWLING SECTION. Mr C. G. E. Harker presided over the annual meeting oi the bowling section or the Waipawa Sports Club when the stleretary, Mr T. D. Blackie presented the report on last season. A rink from tlic club composed of Messrs Wallace, Jull, Blackie and Critchley had reached the finals in the New Year tournament, stated the report, and another team consisting of Alessrs Miller, J. Haldane, Blackie the club in the Champion Fours. A most successful open pairs tournament was held during tennis week and was won by Messrs Garnett and Smart, of Hustings. Mr Ness, who has charge of the green was thanked for uis excellent work. The following officers were elected: —Vice-president of section, Air T. W. Wilis; committee, Messrs Blackie, Harker, Davy and Walker; secretary, Mr J. Gordon; delegate to East Coast Centre, Mr C. H. Crichley; handicapper and selector, Mr T. W. Wills. Votes of thanks were passed to Messrs Harker and Blackie, the retiring vice-president and secretary respectively. Regret was expressed at the res:gnntion of Mr Dillon from the club, and it was decided that a letter expressng appreciation of his services be sent him. The opening of the season will take place on a date to be Hxed at the general meeting of the club.
