Grainger, of 'Wellington, who returned from London by the Mataroa on Monday afternoon. He was sent Home by the Dairy Control Board to report on the storage and handling of butter, and until he has reported to the board he did not wish to make any statements.

Mr Grainger remarked that last year the market began with 800,1'90 cases of butter in stock; this year was started with none.

Speaking generally of conditions in England Mr Grainger said that there is a big improvement on last year, and a spirit of optimism was quite noticeable.
