AMATEUR ATHLETICS
MEETING OF HASTINGS CLUB. ANOTHER TEN-MILE RACE. A meeting of the executive of the Hastings A.A. and Cycling Club was held on Monday, when Mr. R. M. Hewitt occupied the chair. An invitation was received from the Wellington Centre for a delegate to attend the annual meeting on October B.—Mr, C. J. Robertson was appointed the club’s representative. He was given several matters that the club desired to be discussed at the meeting. The club decided to hold another 10-mile cycle race on October 8 over the same route as last Saturday. Competitors are asked to be on the mark at 2,30 p.m. The handicaps will be given out at 2.45 and the race will start at 3 pan. The event will be post entry and a bigger field is anticipated than what faced the starter on Saturday last. The resignation of Mr. C. M. Williamson as hon. auditor was received with regret. Mr. R. Egan was apixiinted to fill the vacancy. The club proposes to conduct a series of evening meetings throughout the summer months and in order to commemorate the Summer Time Bill the first of the series will take place on Nelson Park on November 7, at 7 p.m:
