BABY BORN AT SEA.

ON DAY WHEN TIME IS ALTERED. Little Joan McDermott really hasn’s a regular birthday. She was born at sea, on the Mataroa, on the day when the time is altered. Her birthday can be either September 22, according to English time, or September 23, according to New Zealand time. Joan was made much of by the other passengers, though she doesn’t know it yet.
