LISTENERS CONFERENCE.

WAR ON “PIRATES.”

Wellington, Sopt. 29. The Wellington Comerenco of Badio Listeners was opened this morn ing by the Mayor,. About forty people were present. The itostmaster-Gonerul, Mr Nosworthy, said that well defined opinions would be welcomed. and would be of much more value than irresponsible criticisfn.

Mr M.acnamara, Secretary of the Post and Telegraph Department urged listeners to assist by providing a substantial and regular iqcomo, and by waging relentless war on pirates. It was the Department’s intention to take every step to stop unlicensed sets being used, and more inspectors had been appointed. Mr Hanis, General Manager of the New Zealand Radio Broadcasting Company, made a plea for co-opera-tion.

After other speeches an adjournment was made to inspect 2YA.
