ITNERANT SHOWMEN.
(To the Editor.) Sir,—l think it is ovqr the odds for the person responsible granting permits tor showmen to howl and screech (roin 3 o’clock m the after noon till 10 at night. I should think it muet be very pleasing to business men in the neighbourhood, especially to gentlemen of the Public Trust who are doing intricate accounts, also to the person who is “having them out to be suddenly disturbed by one of those awful swirls, and I can assure you it’s very annoying to people who are lying at Death’s door. To grant a permit in the centre of the town is beyond the odds.—Y° n Hastings. 28/9/27.
