A request that the proposed preferential tariff on cineipa films be postponed pending a full inquiry into the whole of the film business in New Zealand was made to the Hon. W. Downie Stewart thi a morning by a deputation from the New Zealand Motion Picture Exhibitors’ Associn. tion. The Minister said he would confine his reply to the fact that the whole position was being carefully reviewed and that within a few days, when the Tariff Bill came down, they would see what decision the Government had arrived at.
