FOODSTUFFS AND MEAT.

(Received 15, 11.20 a.m.) Lonuun, July 14.

Answering Mr. P. A. Hurd (Conservative, Devizes), Captain H. D. King, Financial Under-Secretary for the War Office, stated that the value of War Office headquarters contracts for foodstuffs and meat in 1927 to date wa B about £675,000. The , roportion of home production was ifi per cent., the overseas Empire 70, and l2 per cent. Inform d-np was not available regarding other purchase*: or local contracts of home and foreign stations. It must be realised that these figures do not nece«sariy represent the percentage for the whole (A.P.A. and “Sun’’ cable.)
