AFTER WOOL.
RUSSIAN IN AUSTRALIA. HIS COMPANY "NOT ALLIED WITH ARCOS. Sydney,. July 13. Patiagorsky, who arrived from Russia a few days ago, states that he has come to Australia to buy and ship wool direct to Russia. He will attend all wool sales instead of, as previously, operating, through the English markets. His company purchased raw material for all woollen mills in Russia, 20 per cent, of which were owned by representatives of the company. He had been buying here for the past four months. Already he had bought 17,800 bales. Patiagorsky pointed out that the textile industry in Russia was so large that it would, always be a factor in the wool trade. Russia obtained 70 per cent of her requirements from Australia. The fact that hie company was acting through English firms was proof that his operations were in no way connected with the recent break with Russia. The company was also continuing to operate in London and Bradford. His visit here was in nowise connected with politics, but was purely, commercial. The company was in no way allied with Arcos- He expects largely to increase his wool operations in Australia.
