FALLS OF SNOW. EXPRESS TRAINS DELAYED. Palmerston North, July 14. Following a mild spell, the weather has turned bitterly cold, snow having fallen on the hills uortn of Palmerston North. i, Both the Main Trunk expresses were delayed lor some time owing to the conditions at Waiouru. The Limited was held up lor over tn i hours, while the ordinary express, due here at 9.15 arrived at 12.30, heavy snow being encountered between Taihape and Owhango. At Waiouru the ordinary express was held up behind a goods trains, which was finding difficulty in ploughing its way through two feet of snow.
