A FIRST CLASS ROAD.
BETWEEN NAPIER AND HASTINGS TOWN MOTORISTS’ CONTRIBUTION. COUNTY COUNCIL RESOLUTION. "That a committee of the Hawke's Bay Automobile Assocla. tlon be asked to meet a committee of this council to consider the question of the introduction of legislation by which the motorists resident in the towns of Napier and Hastings may be empowered to contribute to the ooet of a permanent road between Napier and Hastings,’* was a resolution carried by the Hawke's Bav County Council to-day on the motion of Cr. T E. Crosse Cr. Crosse pointed out that the Wellington Citv Council had made a contribution to the Hutt road, while Dunedin was similarly subsidising a road. Cr. Tucker .said that the council should get on side with motorists, who desired to see a first-class road between Napier and Hastings. Cr. Smith was of the opinion that town motorists should contribute to the upkeep of the country roads.
