T E. Crosse Cr. Crosse pointed out that the Wellington Citv Council had made a contribution to the Hutt road, while Dunedin was similarly subsidising a road. Cr. Tucker .said that the council should get on side with motorists, who desired to see a first-class road between Napier and Hastings. Cr. Smith was of the opinion that town motorists should contribute to the upkeep of the country roads.
