Air. Lachlan AlacKinven. of Auckland, is at present in Hastings and is staying with his sister. Airs D. MacKenzie.
Mr. F. AV. Furkert Engineer-in-Cliief of the Public Works Department, arrived in Napier last night and proceeded north this morning to inspect the. East Coast railway works.
A Wellington telegram reports the death of the Rev. J. G. Chapman, a Wesleyan minister, who was formerly in charge of the Taranaki Street Church, aged 62, and also of the Rev. John Crowes, aged 79.
Dr. J. R. Alott, the international missionary, will arrive in Auckland on April 20th, ami will visit Wellington, Dunedin and Christchjirdi. Dr. Alotc will sail from Auckland on May 11th.
Air. W. T. Penny, secretary of tho Manawatu Agricultural and Pastoral Association, is progressing favourably alter an operation he underwent a few days ago.
The “Daily Express” states that Princess Astrid, aged 20, the pretty niece of the King of Sweden, will be thc guest of their Alajesties at Buckingham Palaeo as soon as the Court mourning* is over.
Commissioner Lamb, of the Salvation Army, and Airs Lamb will arrive in Now Zealand by thc Niagara on January 4, and will be in thc Dominion for four weeks. Commissioner Lamb will address public bodies on all the important subjects of immigration.
