(Per Press Association). A lorry with sixteen passengers, when returning to New Plymouth, narrowly escaped being smashed by a race “special” at Stratford last night. Tile driver turned over the crossing and the lorry escaped by inches. Theo Skoglund. a farmer, seeing the danger, made a. flying leap and landed on his head. He was removed to hospital in a critical condition with a fractured skull.
