THE PICTURE HOUSES.

MUNICIPAL. Replete with all the wholesome ingredients that go to make up a really fine entertainment. “The Painted Flapper,” screening for rhe last time to-night at the Hastings Municipal Theatie. will be remembered by many for its delightful cynicism in a cleverly picturised burlesque on the presentday girl, topically termed the flapper. In an extremely difficult characterisation, Pauline Garon adds infinite glory to fame as an accomplished actress. James Kirkwood, who plays the part of the man from abroad, is ever prominent with his brilliant personality. The whole programme is excellent.

The supporting films are of an excellent type.
