The Napier and Hastings Bus Co.. Ltd., acivertise their hvuday timetable. Nimon and Sons will run a special service between Havelock North and Hastings on ’Xmas Day. On Boxing Dav and New Year’s Day the usual timetable will lie observed. Santa Claus is laying in large stocks of the new Baby Bell children’s records which arc as clear and loud as full-sized records, at less than hallrhe price. A spiritualist meeting will be held in the H.B. Jockey Club rooms, Alarket street, Hastings, on Wednesday evening at 8 sharp. The public are cordially invited. The principal of Clifton Commercial College advertises that instruction in all commercial subjects will resume on Monday, February 1, at 9 a.m. for day students, and 7 p.m. for evening students. Mr Gilby wil be in attendance on Thursday and Friday. January 28 and 29. from 10 to 12. and 2 to 6 to receive enrolments. The children’s Christmas party of the Loyal Hastings Lodge Alanehestci I n’ltv Oddfellows takes place at the Oddfellows’ Hall. Market street, tomorrow (Wednesday). The tea commences at 5-30 p.m. and Father Christmas is expected to arrive about 7 o’clock, when he will enter the Magic Cave and receive his guests in his usual manner. To-morrow is the last chance to secure fat table poultry for ’Xmas. A e7 Bullen and Co. have made speo ml arrangements with vendors to send * T ood prime turkeys, geese, ducks, and fowls, which will be offered at 1 o'clock. V special attraction will be an exceptionally large quantity of useful ’Xmas presents to be sold during the, afternoon. A choice lot of hams, bacon, etc. will also be sold. Those who have not yet got their Christmas poultry should attend Ales>rs Gill Bros’ sale on Thursday. Fowls, ducks, turkeys, and geese will be offered. Lines in the sundries, fruit and produce sections should also appeal to the public. This will be the last chance before Christmas of securing good linos.
