A Congressman’s Complaint BRITISH MARKET MANIPULATION AN INQUIR Y ORDERED. (By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. (Received 22, 10.0 a.m.) Washington, Dec. 21. An investigation on Monday of. the alleged manipulation of the price of crude rubber and other raw materials by the British and Colonial Governments, has been ordered by the House of Representatives. A resolution directing a House committee to conduct the inquiry was adopted after Representative Hull, of Tennessee, charged the British Government with “openly proclaiming that it intends to collect four billion dollars from us in increase': rubber prices to pay its war debt. Europe is laughing up its sleeve at the way we are being held up for rubber.”—(A. and N.Z.)
