Pending a lead from Angora, coimnient on the Mosul decision is not en lightening, though the League of Nations is generally criticised as the scr vile tool of Britain. Amery has returned from Geneva and will meet the Cabinet this morning. The debate has been fixed for the House of Commons on Monday and the prorogation for Tuesday. The “Daily Telegraph’s” diplomatic correspondent states that the Government intends to hasten the Iraq treaty and obtain the approval of the respective Parliaments for submission to the March Assembly of me League Council, when the award can be confirmed three months ahead of the time limit. An early settlement is Tett to be desirable, inasmuch as the climatic conait ions in Anatolia do not favour any Turkish military demonstration before April. Rushdy Bey has arrived in Paris for the purpose, it is believed, of seeing ichitcherin.—(A. and N.Z.)
