RUCBY FOOTBALL. inter-island MATCH. ELVY NOT AA'AILABLE. Christchurch, July 20. Elvy is not available for the interIsland Rughj- match, and is being replaced by Wise. HASTINGS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL. MATCH TO SWELL FUNDS. At a meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Fallen Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital Executive, held in Hastings this morning, the Mayor (Mr. G. Maddison) said that arrangements were being made by the Hastings Rugby Sub-Union to have a match. M.A.C. versus Te Aute College, played at an early date, in aid of the funds of the Hastings Memorial Hospital. The date of the match will be about August 12. Apart from the fact that the appeal is for a popular object, the match itself between the rival colleges will be a hard and fast game thrilling with incident, and a record crowd is expected to bo present. The tickets will soon be issued for sale to the public.•
