LICENSES FOR THE KING COUNTRY.

“NO RECOMMENDATIONS.” Mi-. F. F. Hockly (chairman of the Licensing Committee) reported to the House of Representatives on Thursday that th© committee had no recommendation to make with reference to the petition from Hone Pihama to Uru and 430 others, praying for licensing reform and the granting of municipal licenses in th© King Country. Mr. Hockly also reported that the committee recommended to the Government “for consideration” the petitions from Te Rohutu Emere, T© Hanauru, John Dennis, W. F, Knowles and 2550 others, praying that the existing legislation 'prohibiting liquor in the King Country should remain in force. The reports were laid on the table.
