Mr. R. £>. Sutherland occupied the chair, and, at the conclusion of the refection, the chairman addressed the staff in a happy speech, during which he spoke of Mr. Mitchell’s kindly disposition, his commercial integrity and his capabilities as a business man. Ihey were all. sorry at his departure. He .then called on Mr. n’ho in a brief address, asked Mi\ Mitchell to accept from the staff a pencil case of pure gold for himself anu a handsome .Moorcroft vase for Mrs. Mitchell, as a marie of the esteem in which the both are held. Mr. Mitchell replied feelingly and the re-union concluded with the singing of “For They Are Jolly Good Fellows.”
