‘ LETTER TO THE ALL BLACKS. London, Sept. 18. Immediately on the arrival of the New Zealand footballers, Mr. S. S. Dean, on behalf of the team, wrote a letter to the Governor-General-elect expressing their gratification on having received the news of Sir Charles’s acceptance pf the Governorship, and enclosing him a list of the team’s fixtures during the foothall season. Mr. Dean has had the following reply from Sir Charles: “Thank you very much for vour kind letter, which mv wife and I appreciate very much. It w.as a great pleasure to think that our appointment was so warmly welcomed, and I can assure you that we both look forward immensely to our stay in New Zealand, which we both remember well in former days. “Please give mjr warmest greetings to the team. I wish them all success and a pleasant tour in this country, and shall look forward to greeting them on their return. Thank you for sending me the list of fixtures. If it is at aU possible for me to attend any of them T will, of coiirse, do so, but it is doubtful, as we sliall be very busy until our departure.”—Christchurch ‘Tress” correspondent.
