A WARNING TO FARMERS. Speaking at a gathering held in connection with the Carterton Show on Wednesday, the Hon. A. D. McLeod, Minister of Lands, gave a word of warning to primary productors to secure their position as soon as they could. ‘ ‘ I ant not a pessimist, but I sincerely believe we may not continue to get the prices for our wool that we have been getting for the last two years, and I advise you all to make hay while the sun shines and put your finances right. It should be the earnest endeavour of every primary producer to do his best to reduce his indebtedness to that little old man who sits on your fence and gazes at you morning, noon and night.” (Laughter). He indicated that the fall in prices might not only apply to wool, but meat and dairy produce, and that was why he was anxious to see them put their houses in order. Mr McLeod referred to the criticism of producers that the farmers were not represented in Parliament, and said that of 80 members in the House, if ; their jobs fizzled out, 37 would only have their farms to go back tot. Seven o£ eleven) executive members were in ; a similar position. , _
