To-night’s attractions promise to be above the average, With Clara Kimball Young and Jack Hoxie starred in Metro and Universal pictures respectively. “The Woman of Bronze” is the title of Miss Youngs’ presentation which is said to offer an exceptional opportunity for the star to show her dramatic ability. She is supported by. i a powerful cast, including John Bowers and Katherine McGuire. Persons who like pictiire stories of the rapidly moving life of the western cattle country accompanied by a plot that is entirely plausible, will find fine entertainment de luxe in Jack Hoxie’s “The Black Trail.” The picture starts off rapidly and moves rapidly throughout to a dramatic conclusion. Scenically, this is said to be one of Hoxie’s finest productions. The orchestra and gazettes make up the supporting part of the programme. COSY DE LUXE. Coming to the Cosy Theatre, Hastings, this evening is the Paramount picture of Zane Grey’s thrilling tale of the west as it is, “The Call of the Canyon.” The leading roles are in the capable hands of Richard Dix and Lois Wilson and among the supporting players are Marjorie Daw, Noah and Ricardo Cortez. It is a tale of the pleasure-mad section of New York society and contrasted vividly with the propositions that face a country after the war. It tells the story of a young man who returns to his fiancee to find her a leader in a jazz-mad set and then he goes west to regain his shattered nerves. The girl follows, but the hardships of really earning a living are too great and she goes back. But the call of the canyon makes itself lheard and when she returns another girl has seemingly won a place in his affections. A comedy, Burton Holmes » scenic and Paramount Gazettes will be ths pictures in support.
