CARGO PILFERING.

GRANITE REPLACES SPORTING GUNS. Wellington, Aug. #. A Wellington hardware firm received a consignment of sporting guns from Englund in the Port Curtis, which was only loaded at Hull and London. On opening th© case it was found that 12 out of 17 guns were gone, granite sets used for road making being substituted. The guns were made in Belgium. Tha pillaging was evidently done at the Antwerp wharf. The case slowed no sign of been tampered with.—(A. and N.Z.)
