OXFORD STUDENTS’ VISIT.

PROPOSED DEBATES WITH N.Z. STUDENTS. (Per Press Association.) Wellington, July 29. Word has been received that several Oxford students, members of the University debating society, intend to make a world tour and among them is Mr Malcolm MacDonald, son of the British Prime Minister. It has been suggested they should meet debating teams from our four University colleges, and the proposal was before the Students’ Association of Victoria College. It appears that there has been some dissatisfaction with the conduct of the debating society of this college, and a long vigorous discussion was aroused by the proposal that debates should not be of Bolshevik, Socialistic or disloyal nature. In the end, by a large majority, it was decided that topics for debate shall be subject to the approval of the executive of the Students’
